Ruling the Chicago Airwaves! (sort of...)
Sometime in the next week or two, Mike Mangione & The Union will get some airplay on XRT's Local Anesthetic. They'll be giving a sneak peak of the new album, Offering.

Also, for you serious nightowls, Mike and the band will be staying up late or getting up REALLY early, with our pal Brian Noonan on the "WGN Overnight with Brian Noonan" show.

Set your alarms for 2:59AM on Sat night/Sun Morning and get up and listen. You can even call in and make a request. (But, we won't play it. hehe)

02.10.10 - Sirius Satellite Radio Canceled (sort of)
Due to bad weather in the Midwest, Mike wasn't able to make it to NYC for the Sirius show. But, he was able to call in for an interview and debut two new songs from Offering: "At Your Gate" and "The Offering."

We're Getting Some Love From Louisville!
The Pacing The Cage blog out of Louisville had some nice things to say about Tenebrae and believe us Mr. Ben Schneweis, we want to get our new release "Offering" out as soon as we can. A little birdie told me that some sweet digipaks are on their way back from the pressing plant and could be here very, very soon!

New album Offering on RODZINKA Records due out this February 2010 to you and you only!!
The band will be having a soft release of the album next month for its fans through its website, myspace, Itunes as well as at live performances. An official release date will be determined later, but right now we just want to get it to those who love us the most!

People still love Tenebrae!
Blurt magazine had this to say about Tenebrae:

"The album's finest cut, however, is the six-minute "The Killing Floor" (an original, not the old blues standard). In it a luminous, almost Daniel Lanois-esque arrangement gradually builds in intensity until Mangione, clearly in the throes of passion, slides from an earthy growl into a heavenly falsetto as he repeats the word Hallelujah over and over; it's a little bit Leonard Cohen, a little bit Jeff Buckley, and maybe even a little bit Van Morrison, too. At that precise moment, any doubts you may have entertained over whether or not Mangione is a deeply soulful cat are completely erased."

The Band works on their follow up album "Offering"
Mike and the band have finished their studio work and now proceed with the mixing process for their follow up to "Tenebrae" called "Offering". The band teamed up with producer Duane Lundy (Tenebrae, Ben Sollee, These United States) last January in beautiful sunny Lexington KY to work on 10 tracks for the new album. The album will feature the bands newest member, Nez, on drums replacing Robby Cosenza and has a special appearance by female vocalist Ruthie Cullen. Release date is yet to be determined..

Lyrics for the upcoming release "Offering" will be added in the near future but in the meantime, come on out to a show and write down what you think Mike is singing and give them to one of us after we play. The best and most creative examples will be featured here on the Website when announce the release date for the new album/cd/download.

Mike Mangione is on the bus!
Singer-songwriter Mike Mangione is one of ten Milwaukee artists selected for a program called "Local Live On The Drive," which broadcasts live performance video clips on buses via Transit TV in Milwaukee, Chicago, Orlando, Atlanta and Los Angeles for the duration of the summer. His performance of "It's Me Not You" was taped (along with the other performance clips) in the WMSE-FM studio in Milwaukee. The bus programming debuted on June 18th.

Tenebrae gets distribution!
To be in stores Aug 5th 2008
Mike Mangione is set to release his album "Tenebrae" nationally via Oarfin Distribution on August 5th. With "Tenebrae" already enjoying a soft release on the internet, and reaching #9 on the Euro Americana Charts for January, Mangione has his sights set to top these achievements in 2008. Early favorable press on the forthcoming album has included the honor of being selected as New York Magazine's pick of the week, the cover of M Magazine in Milwaukee, while Indie Launchpad defined "Tenebrae" as 'a phenomenally great album.' Indiemusicstop has labeled it 'a definite must have for any fan of folk and indie music genres,' and Illinois Entertainer called it "one of the best local releases." The entire album has been licensed for use in upcoming seasons of multiple MTV shows such as Road Rules, Human Giant, My Super Sweet 16, and The Hills. The Oxygen Network licensed the entire album for use in their upcoming season of Bad Girls Club, as well as the Lifetime Network for use in their brand new show American Psychic.

Mike and the four piece will be playing 6 dates in Sydney Australia for the World Youth Day festival from July 15-20th.
